§ Room count

Milan listings are often described by room count rather than raw surface — a bilocale (one bedroom plus a living room, typically 45–60 m²), a trilocale (two bedrooms, typically 65–90 m²), or a quadrilocale (three bedrooms, typically 95–130 m²).

About Porta Venezia

§ Local context

Porta Venezia was called Porta Orientale until 1860, when it was renamed in tribute to a city left under Austrian rule after a war of independence that ended halfway. The neoclassical toll houses still marking piazza Oberdan are by Rodolfo Vantini, built between 1827 and 1828 after a competition with thirty-two entrants.

Above all, though, the district is a catalogue of early-twentieth-century Milanese liberty — via Malpighi is the most cited example — and that also defines what you end up buying here: period buildings, often fine, often demanding to maintain. The alias covers two OMI zones, so the band above sums two markets; and the grander stretch around corso Venezia and viale Majno already falls into the neighbouring zone.

What to check: in liberty stock, the state of the facades and common parts, service charges, any heritage constraints and the energy class — items the asking price rarely discounts. Metro Porta Venezia (M1) and the Passante station.
