About Certosa
§ Local contextThe Certosa di Garegnano was founded on 19 September 1349 by Giovanni Visconti, archbishop and lord of Milan, then four kilometres beyond the walls in open country inside the Bosco della Merlata — woods so plagued by bandits that on the night of 23 April 1449 the monastery was raided. Petrarch stayed here in the summer of 1357. Musocco, the zone's other name, sat on the Roman road to Varese and lived on mulberry and silk, with a customs weighbridge on the traffic heading north.
The OMI zone is officially MUSOCCO, CERTOSA and quotes €2,750–3,500/m² for standard-condition civil housing, €2,400–5,000 across all categories. The perimeter does not match the label, though: via Mambretti falls into E8, while piazzale Accursio — which few Milanese would call "Certosa" — sits inside D40.
Check: the OMI zone of the exact address, then the lift, the state of the building, the energy class and the service charges. And if the listing says "Certosa" while the address sits over towards via Mambretti, the zone is E8 and quotes lower — the gap a seller prices on the label and will not concede.
The area is served by Milano Certosa station.
